Zhu Wentao is a member of the CPC Standing Committee and Vice President of Tongji Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

He is a CPC member, Doctor of Medicine, Chief Physician of Orthopedics Surgery and Doctoral Supervisor. He is a youth member of the Orthopedics Society of the Chinese Medical Association, a member of the Youth Committee of the Orthopedics Society of the Chinese Medical Association, a member of the Orthopedics Youth Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association and Deputy Director of the Knee Joint Group, a member of the Orthopedics Society of the Hubei Provincial Medical Association and deputy head of the Joint Group, and chairman of the Orthopedics Youth Committee of the Hubei Medical Association.

He has been engaged in the diagnosis, treatment and basic research of bone and joint diseases, and has studied at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for one year. He specializes in minimally invasive joint surgery, joint replacement surgery for various joint diseases, such as femoral head necrosis, congenital hip dysplasia, osteoarthritis of the knee, rheumatoid arthritis, as well as all kinds of sports injuries, such as knee meniscus injuries, ligament injuries repair and reconstruction. He is the first to perform computerized AI-guided knee replacement surgery in Hubei Province, and has achieved good results. He has presided over and participated in a number of NSFC funds, provincial and ministerial funds and other subjects, conducted research on gene therapy and stem cell differentiation of osteoarthritis and tumors, and published more than 30 papers in SCI and other core journals.
