On March 27th, 2015, a delegation of 24 members from Sri Lanka led by Mr. M. Thilakasiri, vice-president of National Administrative College visited Tongji Hospital, accompanied by Ms. Ma Donghui, director of Public Management College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The members are from Consumer Affairs Management, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Justice, Public Service, Rural Development Office, Castle Street Hospital, and Custom Bureau and so on in Sri Lanka. Professor Liao Jiazhi, vice-president who is responsible for medical affairs and information management of Tongji and Professor Zhu Wenzhen, vice-president who is responsible for the international affairs received the guests.

Firstly, vice-president Liao extended a warm welcome to the delegation on behalf of 7,000 Tongji staff. Then vice-president M. Thilakasiri expressed his thanks for the hospitality of Tongji and all the members made an introduction of themselves. Later, vice-president Liao gave a brief introduction of Tongji hospital and its current development to the guests. After that, the bilateral parties held a warm discussion on the patient treatment procedures, drugs-use, disposal of medical waste, infectious diseases controlling, foreign patient’s medical insurance, information database maintaining and so on.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the surgery building and department of Radiology. They shared their opinions with the doctors and spoke highly of the latest medical technology in Tongji hospital.
