Focusing on Self-Cultivated Development and Boosting Healthy China Construction
Dear all, a brand new spring is coming with a fresh Tongji hospital. On the eve of a new year, we’d like to extend our best wishes to our colleagues and great thanks to those who offered their support and help to the development of Tongji hospital in the past years.
Looking back into 2016, with the leadership of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the concern from Tongji Medical College and support from the society, we have deepened the reform and innovation and improved the quality and service to make a great progress in the past year.
Gaining a new success in the third undertaking. On Oct.8th, 2016, Sino-French New City Branch of Tongji hospital was opened with expectation of 1000 beds and 3000 outpatients’ volume. For the whole year, the Optical Valley Branch was running smoothly and has accomplished the expected targets. The new Internal Medicine Building was under construction and was expected to start to the interior decoration phase in the first half of 2017. All these infrastructures will provide better medical environment to our patients.
Yielding fruitful harvest in medical work. The total number of outpatient and emergency visits of the hospital headquarters and two branches reached over 5.8 million and the inpatients nearly 240,000 with the main medical index ranking the top in China.
Highlighting in scientific research. The accumulative citation number of our SCI papers from 2006 to 2015 reached the second among national medical organizations. According to Top 100 Hospital of Scientific Influence Ranking released by Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Tongji hospital stands the 7th in China.
Winning reputation in teaching. The employment rate of doctoral students this year was 100%. Accomplished the organization of the 7th National Medical Student Clinical Technique Competition, winning the highly praise from the experts and leaders.
Breaking through in new technology and new business exploration. Initiating several medical trials and innovations in medical treatment technology such as heart bypass operation through surgery robot, azoospermia treatment and 3D printing medical technology utilization.
Frequent communication with Germany. Held the 29th Annual Meeting of Sino-German and German-Sino Medicine Society and signed the cooperation contract with the witness of Chinese and German ministers of Health. German Minister of Health also was invited to visit our hospital and was awarded as the honorary consultant of Tongji hospital.
Social reputation from all circles. Our hospital keeps on the Top 10 Hospital in China and the first in Central China. And 9 disciplines was ranked Top 10 Discipline among all the medical organizations.
As the old saying goes: there is a will, there is a way. During the past year, following the integrated management and equally superb service system, our colleagues travelled back and forth among the headquarters and the two branches, making their own contribution to the hospital and their patients without any complaints. Hereby, on behalf of the hospital, we would like to pay our highest tributes to our colleagues.
Looking forward to 2017, we will insist on the service concept of putting patients the first and focusing on discipline development and talents training. We will further improve the integrated management and equally superb service system between the headquarters and two branches to provide better service to our patients, give impetus to regional economy and social development and national medical healthcare capability
