With the strong support and guidance of the International School of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Tongji Hospital successfully held “Meeting With Clinical Internship Exchange Students-Tongii Hospital CDGM/DCGM Students Exchange Program Annual Summary Meeting” on December 18th. This meeting was to review the exchange achievements of the past year, explore future cooperation opportunities, and further strengthen cooperation between China and Germany in the field of medical education.
The meeting took place in Room 1012 of the Administrative Building of Tongji Hospital, presided over by Liu Jie from the International Exchange Office of Tongji Hospital. Attendees included Vice Dean Huang Chao of the International School of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Director Hong Tao of the International Medical Student Office of the International School, Director Wang Man of the International Exchange Office of Tongji Hospital, Professor Yang Zhengming from the Department of Neurosurgery at Tongji Hospital, Song Tongyue from the Medical Office of the International Exchange Office, German interns, students from the Second Clinical College who went to Germany for internships, and other leaders.
At the beginning of the meeting, the host extended a warm welcome to all the guests. Subsequently, Director Wang Man delivered an enthusiastic speech, emphasizing the importance of international exchange and cooperation, and expressed anticipation for future collaboration. German intern representatives Nils Niggemann, Annika Kirscht, Sophia Kirscht, and Jonas Schutze each spoke, sharing their internship experiences, learning insights, and life reflections at Tongji Hospital. German students Zunana Kobus and Marta Kobus, who had interned at Tongji Hospital in May, also joined in the meeting via Internet.
Professor Yang Zhengming, representing the supervisors also spoke, highly praising the performance of the interns and expressing good wishes for their future. During the open discussion session, Chinese students from the Second Clinical College of Tongji Hospital who went to Germany for exchange and German students engaged in a lively exchange and discussion on topics such as food, cultures and medical internship in China and Germany.
In his concluding remarks, Vice Dean Huang Chao fully affirmed the exchange program of the past year and put forward new expectations for future cooperation. He encouraged German students to continue to connect the peoples of China and Germany after returning home, to play a good role as a bridge, and to contribute to the health of global community. After the meeting, German students visited the Tongji Hospital History Museum to further understand the development and cultural heritage of Tongji Hospital.
This meeting not only marked a successful end to the Sino-German clinical internship exchange program for 2024 but also laid a solid foundation for future projects. We look forward to witnessing more outcomes of Sino-German medical exchanges in the future and making greater contributions to the development of global medical education.
