On April 8th, 2019, Prof. Brian Donley, CEO of Cleveland Clinic, London and Mr. Prakash, Senior Director, International Operations at Cleveland Clinic have been invited to visit Tongji Hospital after Prof. Donley’s keynote speech in the 1ST World Health Expo Wuhan in the morning.

President WU Jing, vice President ZHU Wenzheng and vice President TANG Jinhui attended the reception meeting along with Prof. WEI Xiang from Cardiac vascular Surgery, Prof. KANG Hao from Orthopedics, Prof. WANG Liang from Radiology, Prof. CHEN Zhong and associate Prof. YUAN Xiaoyi from Urology, Prof. YAN Jiangtao from Cardiology, Director PANG Lei from President’s Office and Director ZHOU Peiwen from International Affairs Office.

Firstly, President Wu extended our welcome to the guests and expressed our willingness to learn from Cleveland Clinic as the world top medical institution. Vice president ZHU Wenzheng later made a detailed introduction of Tongji in aspects of medicine, education, S&R, management and so on. Prof. Donley also spoke highly of Tongji’s achievements. He then made a brief introduction of Cleveland Clinic London and told us there are many similarities in aspects of culture, prospect, and structure between these two hospitals. President Wu expressed the similarities would be the cornerstones for further cooperation. The bilateral parties afterwards held a discussion and expressed our willingness to contact cooperation in various aspects of clinical, education, S&R, personnel training and so on.

After the meeting, Prof. Donely and Mr. Prakash visited Radiology Department in Surgery Building accompanied by President Wu, vice President Zhu and deputy director WANG Liang.
