From Sept. 19th to 20th, 2012, the 25th Joint Meeting of the Chinese-German and German-Chinese Societies of Medicine & 6th Chinese – German Symposium on Hospital Management was held in Tongji Hospital, Wuhan, China. Vice Governor Ms. Daili ZHANG declared the opening of the meeting.
In the Disaster Medicine Seminar on 20th, Professor Bernd Domres, German Director of Chinese-German Disaster Medicine Research Institution, President of German Disaster Medicine Association, vice-President of German Aerial Medical Rescue Association, Surgery Director from Eberhard Karls Universität in Tübingen, delivered a lecture. Experts from both countries extended a hot discussion on the disaster medicine related issue.
After the seminar, President Anmin CHEN and experts from Chinese-German Disaster Medicine Institution extended a further discussion on the construction of a disaster emergency system in Hubei area again with German Counselor to China, and medical official Reinhard Krippner, Pierre-Enric Steiger, principal of Bjoern-Steiger Fund and leaders from Health Department of Hubei Province and Wuhan Municipal City. And they have made a draft on the possibility of setting a German mode emergency and disaster rescue system which will cost an initial investment of 1.1 billion euro and last for five years. Once being set up, it will bring benefit to the whole Hubei province with all round rescue coverage.
