The year 2012 is a milestone for Tongji. In the past year, in accordance with the development policy, we focused on the clinical improvement and high-efficient management. With the increase of the medical resources, the number of hospital beds reached 4000, leading to a broader stage for better service. The indices of outpatient and emergency cases broke through 3.5 million, with an increase of 12.5% over that last year, 120,000 discharged patients and 540,000 operations, with the increasing of 30% and 26% respectively over last year. We have undertaken 114 projects from the National Research Fund for Natural Sciences, marking the third among the national medical organizations. In 2012, Tongji obtained the certification of KTQ from Germany, becoming the first Asian country to pass the KTQ approval and winning the recognition in the aspect of medical quality, patient caring and employing development among the international counterparts. Meeting big challenges of the time and requirement of the patients, our hospital is at a transition point calling for higher medical technology, better medical and management service.
